There are two different ways to set up for weighted grades:

One GPA Including Weighted Points

To set up for one GPA that includes weighted points, you can simply set up a weighted grading scale that would incorporate the weighted point values.  Enter this grading scale in Office Use...System Admin…Create…Grading Scale and type in the weighted points under the point value and final point value columns.

Teachers would either pick the Standard Grading Scale or the Weighted Grading Scale for their grade books.  This will allow for only one GPA, which would be a GPA including weighted points.  This method requires no special setup by Harmony.

Two GPAs which Include One Weighted and One Unweighted

Another option is to calculate BOTH a weighted and an unweighted GPA.  You can set the transcript profile to show either both or only one of these GPA's.  In addition, you can show either a weighted or unweighted class rank , or both ranks if you wish.  In this method, teachers would not pick a weighted scale for their grade books.  All teachers would use the normal, unweighted scale.

At the end of the term you can go to Guidance… Weighted Student Classes. Select the appropriate students and touch Add Weight. You can enter how many additional points you want added.

You need to open each Master Course that is weighted and checkmark the "Weighted" check box.

When the GPA is figured Harmony uses the GradePoint for the unweighted GPA. For the weighted GPA it uses the GradePoint + the added weight.
