Assigning Applied Units

There are 4 options for marking a student’s class as taken for Applied Units.

  1. Marking a student taking all classes for Applied Units

  2. Marking a specific class as an Applied Units class

  3. Marking selected student class documents for Applied Units by the class list

  4. Marking the individual student class document for Applied Units.

1. Marking a student taking ALL classes for Applied Units

  • Go to the Guidance tab of the student demographics.

  • Select Yes from the Applied Unit drop down menu and save the student.

This will mark ALL classes as applied unit for this student for the school year.

2. Marking a specific class as taken for Applied Units

  • Go to Guidance, Courses and Classes or Classes by Teacher

  • Open the class and touch edit.

  • Go to the state report options and select Yes from the Applied Unit drop down menu.

All student class documents for students scheduled in this class will be marked as taken for Applied Units.

3. To mark selected student classes as applied unit

  • Go to Guidance…Class List.

  • Use the show filters option to filter the view to only show a particular course or teacher as shown below.

  • Checkmark the student classes that should be applied unit and then touch the “Assign Applied Unit” button.

  • Select Yes and apply changes.

4. Marking the individual student class document as taken for Applied Units

  • Go to Guidance… Classes by Student.

  • Touch on the class for the student

  • Touch edit and select Yes from the drop down menu.

  • Save the changes

You can also change a class to No if it was previously marked to Yes.

*Note: If a student class document is set to No Option 1 or 2 will not override the No. The student class documents would need to be changed by Option 3 or 4.

Student classes will only be reported as applied units if the student class documents are set to Yes. If the applied unit field is set to blank or No, the class will be reported for credit only.
