Homeroom for Attendance Purposes

Homerooms can be set up as a course and class so that teachers can take attendance.  

 

Add the period called HR to your system profile, periods offered.  For instance, if Homeroom is going to be between period 2 and 3, your system profile would be entered as:

Then go to Guidance… Next Year and add a course called Homeroom.  The course must be called Homeroom, as it will automatically pull the homeroom rosters without having to schedule students into this class.   Then add a class section per term for each homeroom teacher.  You may make the section be the teachers initials if you like. 

Teachers will have a class listed in the grade book view called Homeroom.  The view will show 0 (zero) students as there are no students scheduled in this "class".  Teachers will touch on the take attendance to submit attendance
